Pastor (Jason Murphree) – Jason (Murph) is a native of Cullman County and is a graduate of Cullman High School, Samford University, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a double major in Social Sciences and History and received his Masters Degree in Divinity.  He is married to Sharon Murphree and they have two children (Jackson and Emma).  Jason serves full-time at Crosshaven and has previously served in ministry positions at Lakeside Baptist Church in Birmingham, Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham, Central Park Baptist Church in Birmingham, and Hopewell Baptist Church in Hanceville.  He also was employed at one time by Samford University and served as a Bible teacher and basketball coach at Central Park Christian School in Birmingham.  Murph currently teaches as an adjunct instructor in the undergraduate program at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (Birmingham Campus).  He loves to spend time with his wife and children and enjoys boating, skiing, and tubing on the lake.  He also likes playing softball and tennis, playing in the worship band, and making occasional trips to the beach to relax or to the mountains to snow ski.  Murph is a big Bama fan, roots for the Braves, loves to travel, and has a strange fascination with hickory smoked barbecue (he loves to smoke barbecue at home and makes the boastful claim that he has been to or at least heard of almost every worthwhile barbecue joint in the state).
