MEET OUR STAFF

Pastor: Jason Murphree E-mail: pastor@crosshavenchurch.org

Jason (Murph) is a native of Cullman County and is a graduate of Cullman High School, Samford University, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a double major in Social Sciences and History and received his Masters Degree in Divinity.  He is married to Sharon Murphree and they have three children (Jackson,Emma and Jake).  Jason serves full-time at Crosshaven and has previously served in ministry positions at Lakeside Baptist Church in Birmingham, Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham, Central Park Baptist Church in Birmingham, and Hopewell Baptist Church in Hanceville.  He also was employed at one time by Samford University and served as a Bible teacher and basketball coach at Central Park Christian School in Birmingham.  Murph currently teaches as an adjunct instructor in the undergraduate program at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (Birmingham Campus).  He loves to spend time with his wife and children and enjoys boating, skiing, and tubing on the lake.  He also likes playing softball and tennis, playing in the worship band, and making occasional trips to the beach to relax or to the mountains to snow ski.  Murph is a big Bama fan, roots for the Braves, loves to travel, and has a strange fascination with hickory smoked barbecue (he loves to smoke barbecue at home and makes the boastful claim that he has been to or at least heard of almost every worthwhile barbecue joint in the state).

Students: Position Currently Vacant

Pray for us as we are currently seeking the person that God has to lead our student ministry.

Children: Kim Crumbley E-mail: children@crosshavenchurch.org

Kim is a native of Cullman County and is married to her high school sweetheart (Scott).  She has one adorable child (Hailey) and one knucklehead teenage son (Harris) and they reside in the Welti community.  An interesting fact is that the entire family is fascinated with poultry (they own 3 chicken houses).  Kim has worked in many capacities in children's and preschool ministry (her former experience is at New Hope Baptist Church as a volunteer and at Grace Community Church where she served as Children's Minister).  She has a passion for sharing the love of Christ with children.  Some interesting tidbits about Kim include her obsession with flossing her teeth (at least 7 times a day) and the fact that she paints at least one room in her house each year.  Kim's favorite foods are salad and bread sticks from the Olive Garden, which is a surprise to us (we assumed it would be KFC).  Her vision for ministry is to bring as many children to Christ as possible and her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 8:2 (You have taught children and nursing infants to give you praise.)

Worship Leader: Brian Mattox E-mail: music@crosshavenchurch.org

Brian is a native of Cullman County and is a graduate of Hanceville High School.  His wife is Tonya Mattox and they have four children (Shelby, Caitlin, Briley, and Kaden).  He loves to spend time with his family and sees them as a true blessing.  Brian makes it very clear that he was born in 1976, but was re-born in 2000.  He began playing guitar at age 13 and started singing several years later.  Brian serves at Crosshaven part-time and works full-time at a local manufacturing company.  His hobbies include playing music, spending time on the lake, working on the farm, and smoking barbecue and chicken (he only wishes he could do it as well as Murph).  Brian is an avid Roll Tider and he’ll put you to shame eating a steak (that’s his favorite).
